You Yangs Floral Display
You Yangs Floral Display
Every year in September this patch of grass on the side of the road by the You Yangs turns into a "sea" of colour - flowers only open in sunlight and are out for about 2-3 weeks. A stunning You Yangs floral display.
I finally have my ultra-wide angle lens, so used this to take the shot from a low perspective, very close to the bed of flowers. As the flower bed traverses into the distance, they eye is led to the profile of the You Yangs in the distance with the late afternoon sun behind them, illuminating the clouds in a very interesting way.
I used exposure bracketing to take 5 shots and combine them for this HDR image.
Photo taken with an Olympus Pen EP-3, using an Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f4.0-5.6 lens set at 9mm (18 mm equivalent in 35mm language!), exposure bracket and ISO 200.
