Weekend in the Sanoma Valley, July 2018

During our 2018 trip to San Francisco, we spent a wonderful weekend in the Sanoma Valley, touring wineries, historical sites and the landscape.

Some of the highlights:

  • The city of Petaluma, an old gold mining town that still had signs of the riches of gold, in many striking buildings.
  • Petaluma State Historic Park - site of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo's 66,000-acre  working ranch between 1836-1846.
  • Wineries - Mantanza Creek, Mill Creek, DaVero and Ferrari-Carano
  • Santa Rosa - home of Charles Schultz (creator of Peanuts)
  • Healdsburg
  • Lake Sanoma Overlook
  • Sanoma City
