Storm at the Carousel
Storm at the Carousel
After an early breakfast business meeting on the Geelong Waterfront, I braved the elements of a brewing storm to watch the waves crashing over the boardwalk. This scene captured my eye as I was shivering in the cold wind - threatening clouds and interesting light on the horizon formed a stark backdrop to the carousel building. The pillar in the foreground made an interesting guide leading to the converging line of the boardwalk drawing the eyes back to the carousel in the background. Of course, the motor drive helped to get a selection of images from which to choose the one with the best wave splash pattern!
I took this photo with an Olympus Pen EP-3, using an Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 lens set at 18mm (36 mm equivalent in 35mm language!), exposure at 1/160 sec, f stop 6.3 and ISO 200.
Would be nice to have a 12 mm lens for this type of shot!
