The Mansfield Courthouse
The Mansfield Courthouse
Another glorious spring day in Mansfield with brilliant sunshine - challenging conditions for a photographer to capture scenes like this with stark contrast between light and shadow.
This is the Mansfield Courthouse, which has seen many interesting events in its 100+ year history. Roses are in full bloom, typical for early November in our part of the world and the stunning green foliage of the elm (or is it an oak?) tree provides a nice match for the red brick building.
I used exposure bracketing to take 3 shots at 2 stops apart with fixed f-stop of 18, and combined them for this HDR image. The high dynamic range allows realistic rendition of the stark contrasts very well.
Photo taken with an Olympus Pen EP-3, using an Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18 mm f3.5-5.6 set at 11mm (22 mm equivalent in 35mm language!), exposure bracket at ISO 200.
