Between the rain in Lara Lakelands Park

Lara Lakelands Park is just outside our front door - a natural valley with a stormwater channel that carries water from the western Lara Grasslands to Hovell's Creek to the East. It is home to a diverse assortment of birds ranging from Cape Barren Geese, Pelicans, various water fowl, to Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Galahs, Musk Lorikeets and even occasionally, Yellow Tail Black Cockatoos.

Today was a very dull, rainy and overcast day here, but late in the afternoon, there was a break in the clouds and the sun appeared for a time, allowing me to take this photograph of the sun streaming through the yellow box gum trees. No filter was used to produce the star effect!

Photographed with: Olympus Pen EP-3, with Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42 mm f3.5-5.6 lens set at 42 mm, f13, 1/320 exposure ISO 800.
